Below is a link to a clip of an interview with Tim Berners-Lee, creator of the World Wide Web, and Karen Bartleson of the IEEE Standards Association about having international standards for html. I saw this on a friend's blog, and I found this very interesting to watch. Even as an everyday internet user, I never think about how the Web works. In the interview Bartleson talks about how groups of people come together and discuss the different possibilities for standards on the web. Our generation sees the World Wide Web as a world in itself with rules and regulations that are implied and seem inflexible. However, this interview reveals that the laws which govern the web are thoroughly discussed and debated before being applied.
